Step 2. Accounting Configuration

Once your Chart of Accounts is finished, you will then need to go to the Accounting Configuration screen and make any necessary changes.

1. From Main Menu select System Control.

2. From the System Control sub-menu, select Accounting Configuration.

3. First check the "Beginning Fiscal Year Date" and make sure this is correct for your agency. If you need to make a change, click on Edit and then type in the correct date.

4. Verify the "Current Accounting Month" is in fact the current month. Edit this field if necessary.

5. Make sure the "Accounting is Active" check-box is checked.

6. If the "Month End Not Closed" check-box is checked, you will need to EDIT and remove the check from the box.

7. Next go to the Chart of Accounts Set-Up Categories in the middle of the screen. If any changes were made to the Chart of Accounts in Step 1, you will need to make sure the same changes are made in this area.

8. Scroll to the far right side of the screen where the Trust and Operating Account information are listed. If you changed the account number in the Chart of Accounts, you will need to change the account numbers here.

9. Last, you will need to input your next Check# for each account from your checkbook, so that when you begin paying with AgencyToday, the check numbers will match your checkbook.

10. When all changes are made SAVE.
