Adding a Commercial Policy

Commercial General Information Screen:
1. Find your client.
2. Click on the ADD POLICY button. A pop down menu will appear. Select Commercial. AgencyToday proceeds to the Commercial Insurance Application Information section.
3. Date: The date will automatically default to the current system date. TAB.
4. Carrier: The cursor will be flashing in the Insurance Carrier field. Type in the insurance carrier code. If you do not know the code type a "Z" then press TAB and a list of all carrier codes will displayed. Click on the appropriate carrier code.
5. Plan: Type in the Insurance company plan code. If you do not know the code type a "Z" then press TAB and a list of all company plans will display. Click on the appropriate plan code.
6. "TAB" through the form to complete it or click into any field directly.
7. Status of policy: Click on the yellow drop down box and a listing of all the available status code options will be displayed. Click on the appropriate status code for this policy. Note the difference between "C" and "E" codes. "C" for Cancel means the policy is still in force, but will "Cancel" on a certain date if not paid. "E" for Expired means the policy has gone past "Cancel" status and is no longer in force and has expired.
8. Important to complete the following three fields before saving for accounting purposes:
9. Carrier (Ins. Co.) Field. (Abbreviation of 3 digits.)
10. Producer Code (Abbreviation of 3 digits.)
11. Billing Plan ("X" Agency bill or Direct bill.)
12. Important to click on the SAVE button when all entries are complete.
Printing the Commercial General Information Form:
1. Click on the PRINT button from the right columns of buttons on the screen.
2. AgencyToday, in most cases, will display three printing options being Printer, Screen or Email.
3. Click on the option of choice.
Returning to the Commercial General Information Screen:
1. From Client Services, find your client first.
2. Below the name and address are the various commercial policies. Double-click on the desired policy and AgencyToday will display the client's General Information Screen.
You may then proceed to edit, re-print or duplicate the application.
