Data Reorganization
When AgencyToday makes certain enhancements or changes to the program, data reorganization may be required. Data reorganization means the agency data file will match the exact format of the program since your last update. The program will still operate correctly without doing data reorganization, however, some of the new enhancements may not be functional until then.
BEFORE reorganization, always make a fresh backup of your data file EZ.DF1. This is only in the unlikely event that reorganization does not finish properly and you need to use the backup.
To complete the data reorganization, only one user can be operating AgencyToday. This function should be done at the server, if an agency is on a network.
1. From the Main Menu select "Utilities" then "Data File Utilities".
2. Notice a "Utilities" menu will appear to the left of the Main Menu. This may take a few seconds to appear.
3. From the Utilities menu, select "Data File Tools" then reorganization data. You will again be prompted to have made a backup first. Now simply click on the START button.
When the message box disappears, the reorganization is completed. If any other messages appear, call AgencyToday support for help.
Data reorganization, in most cases, will complete in a few minutes or in very large agency, no more than an hour.
